Trends come and go in the beauty industry but one treatment that has stood the test of times is waxing! You can be assured your clients will always need some form of waxing during their time. It’s up to you to encourage them to return on a regular basis.

Here are some benefits and ways you can help your clients to maintain hair growth and keep them coming back to you.

    1. Rave about the Benefits of Waxing

Apart from having super smooth silky skin all the time, there are many more benefits to keeping a waxing routine. By waxing regular, the hair growth slows down and can produce finer hairs. This will be beneficial with quicker treatments and being less painful. Once the client stops waxing, hairs will grow thicker and unruly and the discomfort of waxing returns. Sharing these tips with your client will get them returning. Other tips include:

Exfoliation:

Waxing is a form of exfoliation, not only does it remove unwanted hairs but also removes the build-up of dead skin revealing healthy smooth skin.

Smooth healthy Skin:

Waxing promotes silky smooth skin by enhancing the skin barrier that protects our skin from dryness. It promotes the skin to produce natural oils in our body to maintain moisturised healthy skin.

Keeps those Ingrown hairs at bay:

Regular waxing helps to minimise ingrown hairs. If the client leaves the hair to grow out it is positionally allowing breakage of the hair resulting in ingrown hairs. Best practice is to keep regular appointments so that the hair is removed from the follicle and not from the surface which can cause the breakage and form ingrown hairs

      1. Create some incentives for the client to return regularly

You can offer many incentives for the client to keep to a regular routine.

      • Offer loyalty cards such as stamp each visit and on the X amount of visit they receive a free wax service.
      • I love the refer a friend and receive a free treatment or 50% off the service. This helps with clients coming back but also introduces new clients to your salon.
      • Word of mouth is the best way to increase clients to your business. Why not reward the person that recommended the new client. You can offer a discounted amount on their next service or a money value to put towards their next treatment. It’s really up to you how you would like to reward the person that made the recommendations.
      • You can have special days that client’s can receive a discounted wax service. This can be done on the quieter days such Mondays or Tuesdays. Or through the winter months when hair growth slows down or when clients are too cold to come in and get waxed.

These are a few ideas that you can tweak to suit your salon and what works best for you.

      1. Create your own waxing packages that are unique and stand out from your competitors

By creating your own signature waxing packages and have cost benefits will maintain clients returning on a regular basis.

Be inventive with your packages or if you have a client that only comes for one type of service offer a free treatment with their service.

      • Offer a free brow clean up – this can encourage the client to book a brow wax with their next treatment.
      • Offer a 10 min leg massage after a full leg wax – nothing feels better when you have some warm oil over freshly waxed legs, not only does it feel good but it helps remove any stickiness and leaves the skin even more silky smooth. End with a hot towel to remove excess oil. Client will have forgotten about the pain and will look forward to her next waxing service!
      • Put a few treatments together to encourage multiple waxing services – Full leg, bikini line and underarm wax at X amount of dollars. This will be cheaper for the client rather than booking in individual services. You can name these treatments to give it more flair such as “waxing goddess package”

With these tips you are sure to keep your clients happy and coming back!
