Getting qualified is the first step to entering the beauty industry.

I am very passionate about education and making sure I am up to date with the latest beauty industry trends and keeping up with my professional development. There is always room for learning new treatments to offer your clients. Short courses are the best ways to invest into for up-skilling or even just refreshing on your current knowledge.

Clients love to hear about the workshops you have attended or the latest information you have attained. Remember learning never ends!

2.Branding yourself

Research the clients you want to aim at and who will be your target market. Design a logo that will stand out and represent your business. This can be by the colour choice and font you choose. Make sure you do all the research before starting your business. A good way to gather the information you need is by conducting a survey to find out what people are wanting in your location. Your survey should only take no longer than 3 – 5 minutes to complete. Branding yourself takes time but when the time is right to launch your business you will be well equipped and have all the necessary knowledge behind you to succeed!

Any successful owner of a business will tell you how important it is to have a business plan. The business plan sets out your objectives, goals and it will give you that sense of direction.

If you are one that loves to map your ideas out, then a business plan will be your best friend.

Start with a mood board and put all your ideas and colour choices together. Pinterest and Canva are great tools to help you get your vision underway.

You will need to set out what your business is all about including why you decided to go into business, who are your target market and what type of products or services you will be providing are some key points.
